So... For those of you that know us (and those that don't); Col, Suz and I have just finalised the purchase of a former café and surrounding land at Longstone. Situated almost dead centre of St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly, with great views over Porth Hellick, we have big plans to refurbish the existing café building, the land and the access road for opening at Easter 2017. We are excited to also be installing an outdoor kids play area and a pretty summerhouse where we are hoping to offer small wedding ceremonies, in fact, next summer Colin and I are planning to get married here ourselves! We are also looking to have chickens and grow as much of our own vegetables as possible for use in the café. Suzy, my sister, and I will be creating the menu and the dishes of food, as much homemade and locally sourced ingredients as possible, including shellfish from Colin and his brother Neil (keep up the amazing crab picking Aunty Anna x). As if we won't have enough to do, Colin also has a whole new building to construct next to the café, which from 2018 will be offering hostel accommodation. We are looking at a variety of room options from singles to 5 bed, including dorm rooms, a communal kitchen and lounge, attractive outside space and the usual hostel facilities.
