When booking a deposit of 25% of the full price of the reservation will be taken. This payment is considered a deposit*.
Balance payments are due on arrival at Longstone Lodge.
Payment can be made online through our secure booking system using most major debit or credit cards.

Please note that we do NOT accept Stag or Hen do's.
Please read our cancellation policy carefully, it is very strict so we strongly advise you take out travel insurance to cover your expenses should you cancel, we cannot just move your booking to another date and cannot be held responsible for adverse weather conditions. International payments will be subject to any additional banking fees payable. Please ensure adequate holiday insurance to cover all eventualities.

25% of your accommodation booking is classed as a deposit. The deposit does not include any extras e.g. towel hire. This deposit amount is non-refundable.
- INDIVIDUALS OR GROUPS OF 10 OR LESS STAYING IN THE HOSTEL
Cancellation before 28 days of the arrival date will result in your payment being refunded minus the deposit*, after 28 days but before 14 days prior to arrival 50% of your booking fee will be payable. Cancellation within 14 days of the arrival date will result in the full booking price being charged.
- GROUPS OF 10 OR MORE/EXCLUSIVE HIRE & APARTMENTS
Deposit* payment of 25% is required at the time of booking, this payment is non-refundable. 8 weeks before arrival 50% of the complete booking price is non-refundable. Cancellation after 8 weeks of the arrival date will result in 50% of the complete booking price being charged. Cancellation within 14 days will result in the full cost of the booking being chargeable. Balance payment is due on arrival at Longstone Lodge.
- CANCELLATION BY LONGSTONE LODGE & CAFE LTD.
Should your booking be cancelled by Longstone Lodge for circumstances reasonably outside of our control your full booking will be refunded, minus 5% administration fee.
Covid-19: Cancellation due to enforced UK Government restrictions on the operation of Longstone Lodge (UK government-mandated closure of Longstone Lodge) will result in a full refund minus 5% administration fee. Alternatively you are welcome to amend your dates of stay where availability allows . Please note this option will be subject to any applicable difference in accommodation cost.
In advance of 28 days of your arrival, booking amendments are free of charge. Please note that any additions to your stay will be charged at the advertised price and/or subject to any applicable difference in accommodation costs.
Any applicable refunds for amendments are minus an administration fee of 5%. Amendments to dates of stay are not possible within 28 days of your arrival date and our cancellation policy would be applicable.

After which time, if payment is not complete, the booking will be cancelled. Please note that we do not accept accommodation bookings and payments via invoice and/or bank transfers.
GROUP BOOKINGS & EXCLUSIVE HIRE
Please note that we do not accept group bookings of over 10 individuals (such as sporting groups or wedding parties). Group bookings can only be accepted on an exclusive hire basis. Exclusive hire is only available between 1st October and 1st May and therefore not bookable during peak season. Group bookings cannot be booked online. Please contact us via email to discuss group options and availability.
If you do not arrive at the Lodge on the scheduled date of arrival, you will be deemed to be a ‘no show’ and you shall be charged 100% of the cost of the entire booking including any extras. If you were due to pay the balance on arrival, we will charge the payment card that was provided at the time of booking.
SELF-CATERING & COMMUNAL LIVING
Please note that we do not provide meals but the hostel has a fully equipped kitchen including fridge freezers, microwave and full cooking facilities, as does each apartment. There is a Cafe open from 10.00am-4.30pm on site April to October, you can also purchase home cooked frozen meals and other food essentials at reception.
Please be aware that Longstone Lodge hostel is a communal facility and as such the lounge, kitchen, guest laundry, bathrooms and outside rear gardens are shared with other residents. Apartment guests will also share the gardens and guest laundry. Noise must be kept to a minimum after 9pm.
Longstone Lodge take no responsibility for guests habits, health and behaviour. However we reserve the right to terminate a stay without compensation where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking, or their guests, may impair the enjoyment, comfort and health of others.
For hostel guests booking the shared dormitory option our minimum age is 16. For safeguarding reasons this MUST be adhered to at all times and we reserve the right to refuse stay without compensation if members of the booked party are under 16 years of age. Please note this age restriction does not apply if guests have booked the 6 person bunked ensuite as a private room (not shared).
Only hostel rooms with en-suite facilities have private bathrooms. Some hostel rooms also have private outdoor decking. Please ensure you check your accommodation details carefully to ensure you have reserved your preferred options.
All internal areas have free WiFi.
CLEANING & CHANGEOVERS
Cleaning of communal areas and change overs occurs daily from 10am to 12noon. Please note that ensuite bathrooms, rooms or apartments are not cleaned during your stay unless you are with us for an extended period, in which case rooms and bathrooms are cleaned once a week. Extra clean towels are available from reception for a small charge. Apartments will be provided with a full change of linen for every 7 day stay.
For whole hostel bookings cleaning is only undertaken once a week, for shorter bookings the hostel is all yours, with no interruptions!
Please note, check out time for all of Longstone Lodge stays is 9.30am.
The Lodge offers an outdoor children's play area, open from 8am to 9pm as well as large communal gardens. For our littlest visitors; infant travel cots are available as well as highchairs and a baby bath. Useful items can be borrowed from reception such as a bed rail and boxes of toys and books.
LINEN & TOWELS
All linen is provided. We even make the beds for you!
Hostel guests will need to bring their own bathroom and/or beach towels, although bathroom towels are provided for the Apartments. However both types of towels can be hired from reception for the duration of your stay.
HOSTEL & APARTMENT ACCESS
Check-in is 12.30pm-6pm for the hostel accommodation and 2.30pm to 6pm for the apartments. A late check-in or early check out can be organised upon request. If you do not notify us by 6pm of an intended late check-in on the day of arrival it may result in your booking being cancelled without refund. Also failure to check out before 10am result in a £10 per person charge. Check out is at 9.30am (Reception is open 8.30am-10am). No curfews in the evenings - you are free to come and go as you wish as long as you keep noise to a minimum after 10.30pm. For guests not checking out - the hostel is closed for cleaning between 10.00am-12noon. This is flexible if we are quiet so it is best to ask at check-in if you want to gain access earlier.
Should you arrive before check-in time and your room is not ready to access we offer a complimentary luggage storage facility on-site.
Longstone Lodge hostel is accessible to disabled visitors. The hostel accommodation is all on one level with a designated accessible shower room and WC. However the apartments are located on the first floor and accessed by external stairs and therefore may not be appropriate for less abled visitors. Please note that the access road to the property is unmade.
We strongly advise that you ensure you have a confirmed travel booking to and from the islands in conjunction with any booking you make with Longstone Lodge as at busy times of the year air and sea travel can be heavily booked. If you are arriving by Skybus or Helicopter, shuttle bus transfers are available at the airport. Should you arrive by Scillonian III ferry it maybe advisable to book a taxi in advance should you require transport to Longstone Lodge. See our 'Getting Here' page for suggested services. Your luggage can be transported with you, however if you label each item for Longstone Lodge before it is checked-in/loaded onto the Scillonian this will be automatically delivered for you by the local haulage companies for a small per bag charge.
Please also note that it is highly recommended that you have adequate travel insurance that covers the Isles of Scilly. You are booking an off-shore holiday so sometimes there can be delays or cancellations. If you have to cancel for any reason this needs to be put in writing to us as soon as possible.
We have a car park that fits approximately 6 cars and/or electric buggies. There is a twin plug charging point for electric carts in the parking area.
We are sorry but we do not accept dogs in the hostel (even small well behaved ones!). However our self-catering apartments; 'Adrift', 'Ashore', and 'Aloft' are dog friendly, as is the Cafe. Please note Aloft apartment is available for dogs from September 2024 only and these stays exclude school summer holiday dates (exclusion dates can be confirmed by application). We can accommodate a maximum number of two dogs per apartment booking.
Canine Code of Conduct: Dogs must always be properly controlled and supervised. Dogs must not be left unattended and must be on a lead at all times on Longstone Lodge and Cafe property and in the vicinity of the adjacent farm. Dogs are not permitted in bedrooms or on any furniture. We therefore advise owners to bring or hire a dog basket. Guests are asked to clean up after dogs, both inside and outside of the property, or extra cleaning costs may be charged. In the interest of guest safety – especially children – and the welfare of other guests’ dogs, breeds classified under the Dangerous Dogs Act are not allowed due to the lack of enclosed private garden areas. We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
FURTHER TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The person making the booking must be 18 or over and accompany the party.
- The accommodation may not be sub-let, only the party confirmed may occupy the apartment, room and/or beds booked.
- The booked apartment, room or dormitory must be left in a clean and tidy condition. The proprietors reserve the right of access to the accommodation for checking, cleaning and maintenance at any reasonable time. Every consideration will, of course be given to the privacy of guests.
- The proprietors reserve the right to make a claim for damage to the premises, its fixtures, fittings and contents .
- No liability can be accepted for any personal injury, loss or damage to personal property and that cover should be secured by the guests insurance.
- There is a £10 charge for lost Longstone Lodge hostel and apartment keys.
- We reserve the right to make reasonable amendments or additions to these terms and conditions without notice.
